The Sun Peaks Tartan was inspired by the wildflowers on the mountains of Sun Peaks, BC during the summer months.

Weaver Marj Knive, had a vision to make a tartan design from the colours as a project for an art auction. At the auction, local celeb Olympian Nancy Green-Raine suggested to Marj that she register it as an official tartan, and the rest is history.

The Sun Peaks Tartan is registered as the District Tartan of Sun Peaks, BC in the Scottish Registry of Tartans.
